Meaning in English

The birds are chirping, announcing the dawn;
the conch of Lord Vishnu echoes from the temple.
O dear girl, why do you still sleep? Arise!
Remember how the divine child Krishna,
who sucked poison from the demoness Putana,
and kicked the cart demon Shakatasura with His tiny feet,

He, the Supreme Seed resting on the ocean of milk,
is praised by saints and yogis in meditation.
Hear their chants and let your heart awaken with joy —
O Paavai, let us rise and worship Him!
